When taking web design training, it’s important to get a basic understanding of how HTML structuring works before moving forward. There are a number of ways to structure your page, and many designers use the “table” system to do so. You’ll need to include HEAD, BODY and TABLE tags. Then you’ll need to insert text, links, images, etc. to create the content of the page.

If you’ve ever worked with Excel worksheets or similar programs, you’re probably familiar with rows, columns, cells, etc. Designing a web page structure with tables is similar to using an Excel spreadsheet. You can control the look and feel of your page by controlling how each cell, row and column looks. Other HTML structuring techniques you might learn during your web design training include, image sizing and placement (including wrap-around features and ALT text for images), how to create menus, how to create and/or insert a logo, creating a header and footer, etc.

Consider a web design training course online that covers the basics for beginners. You can learn a lot by simply starting with basic HTML and working your way up to more complex design techniques.
