Bathroom renovations are not just a plain work of carpentry|woodworking and masonry; they are a real work of craftsmanship and artistry. It takes good sense of creativity to build and especially to renovate bathrooms. This is particularly when you are aiming to increase your bathroom area or in the absence of room for expansion, you’d at least want to make it look bigger.

When you want to create a more spacious appearance in renovating bathroom, you need to put on wall coverings that are light and warm in color. While you may paint your bathroom ceiling pure white, light colors other than white would be better for your bathroom walls. Light warm colors have the similar capacity to create a bright atmosphere in a small space like your bathroom.

Such reflection ability of off-white colors has the tendency to make the small bathroom appear brighter and of course bigger. You may add pastel colored tiles with very pale prints to combine with your light warm wall paint. This gives your bathroom walls a little stylish appearance without making the room look crowded.

Woodwork also adds style to your bathroom walls but only when you do not paint them with same color as the walls. But then again, the wood part of your bathroom walls must have very light brown varnish coloring so as not to counteract the brightening and enlarging effects of the light colors of the wall paints and the tiles.

Then you must clear your extra space and create a more orderly set up of facilities if you want a larger bathroom look. While others tend to crowd every empty space in the bathroom with various amenities and decors, the better thing to do is to de-clutter your lower spaces up to the eye level. If you must build new shelves, it would be better to install them on top of the cabinets than on the lower wall parts.

Looking upwards for stuff in the upper shelves somehow tend to make the bathroom appear larger than when you have to stoop down for stuff in the lower sections. Also, it is better to set up your cabinets and upper shelves only on one side of the bathroom leaving the other wall bare to create spaciousness.

Mirrors also create a magical illusion of spaciousness. You may install mirrors huge enough to fully cover one side of your bathroom wall to make the room appear double bigger.

Finally, it is also better to install a clear see-through shower door than frosted glass or colored shower curtains. Seeing through the extended bathroom space beyond the shower door enhances the expansive atmosphere of your bathroom as a whole.

While you are all excited and motivated by now in renovating your bathroom to a certain dimension of enlargement, it would still be best not to do it yourself but to employ the expertise of a professional bathroom renovator in order to get your desired results.
